What is a Base URL? 🌐

Your Base URL is simply the web address where your TSync lives — the same address you type into your browser to log in, for example https://yourcompany.tsync.pro/.

Think of it like the street address of your office. When you send out a letter, you write the office address on it so replies come back to the right place. TSync does the same thing: it needs to know its own address so that everything it sends out points back correctly.

Why TSync needs it

TSync uses its address behind the scenes whenever it has to create a link that leaves the app and comes back later. For example:

  • Links inside emails — an invoice you send to a customer, a password-reset email, a ticket notification. The "click here" button has to point to the right place.
  • Sending you to the right page after you log in.
  • Loading the look of the app — the styling, images and buttons you see on every screen.

If the address is wrong, those links point to the wrong place (or nowhere), so emails lead customers to a dead page and the app can look broken. Getting it right once means everything just works.

What a correct address looks like

The address should be the complete one — the same full thing you see in your browser's address bar, including the https:// at the front and a slash / at the end:

A few easy-to-miss mistakes:

  • leaving off the https:// at the front
  • forgetting the slash / at the very end
  • using a temporary or test address instead of the real one customers actually visit

Where it gets set

You normally enter the address once, while TSync is first being installed, in the box labelled Base URL. After that you don't need to touch it again — TSync remembers it.

What if the address needs to change?

You'd only change it if your TSync moves to a new web address — for example you switch to a new domain name, or move from a plain http:// address to a secure https:// one.

This is a setup-level change, so it's best handled by whoever installed TSync for you (your IT person or your provider). Two friendly reminders:

  • Always make a backup first, before any change like this.
  • After the switch, everyone may need to log in again — that's normal.

If you're not sure, just contact support and we'll walk you through it.
